"Mirky" Edward Nordrum

Edward Nordrum was born in Harrison, Arkansas on August 13, 1964.

He passed away at 3:47 p.m. at the Hospice House in Mountain Home, Arkansas on Sept 9, 2006. All his family was around him as he passed away.

He spent his boyhood playing in the woods and fishing in the springs and rivers around the Harrison area.

When he was five, his mom and step-dad moved the family to Hugoton, Kansas. Ed went to kindergarten and first grade in Hugoton. The family then moved back to Hardy Arkansas, where Ed attended Grace Baptist Church for a few years. The Church had a strong influence on him and he has a strong spiritual side which is still evident to this day in the poetry that he writes.

The family moved to Liberal Kansas where they put down roots and his step-dad and sister, niece and nephew and great nephew still reside there. Ed was very attached to his family and they loved him very much. One sister lives in Harrison with her husband and children. He has a brother who lives in Wichita with his wife and family. His mother lives in Harrison and visits her sister and husband often in Mountain Home, Arkansas, where Ed loved to fish in the nearby lake when he visited. Ed was close to each and every one of his family members. The family is a very close knit family and they love spending time with each other.

Ed was very charismatic and very humorous. He could take the most mundane of situations and when he put his comic spin on it; it became very funny. He often had his family and friends laughing hard at his comic routines. He had done his comedy act in clubs in the Liberal area, and has even had his comedy act broadcasted on the radio.

Ed worked in the oil field for many years. He was very popular with the drillers on the rigs because of his reputation for being such a hard worker. He even got his picture in the Wichita Eagle, throwing the chain, while he was working on a rig.

Ed had a leading roll as "Ripper" Ricky Harris in the movie Dusk Of The Living Dead filmed locally in Southwest Kansas by JFT Productions and Night Walker Films. He will also appear in the beginning of the Sequel, Fields Of The Living Dead, currently being filmed.

He was much loved and will be missed by all of us. JFT Productions, Nightwalker Films, the cast of "Dusk of the living dead and Fields of the Living Dead will never forgot our fallen hero, "Ripper" and that we'll continue the mission that's ahead of us. Our hearts and prayers go out to Mirky's friends and loved ones.
